The icy winter winds work have with your skin, and chapping of skin becomes a common problem. But, the most vulnerable to cold is Dry skin which cracks skin easily if uncared for. Many time a cracked skin bleeds too. It is , therefore, necessary to avoid exposure. Also you have to take care of other parts of your body like palms, feet back and neck etc., Icy winds also fade the complexion of your skin. If the skin is dry skin, then minimize the use of soap to as little as possible. Cold cream and Olive oil are effective in reducing dryness. But, before this it is essential to deep cleanse your face. For deep Facial cleansing, take a cotton swab dip it in water and squeeze it. Apply Facial cleansing milk and rub it thoroughly on your face and neck for facial cleansing. Do not use unheated milk which might result in opening up unwanted pores on face. Tomato and raspberry juice is best suited for facial cleaning. At night, do not use water after cleansing, but use wet towel for wiping. The towel should be drenched in hot water and then squeezed. After this, facial massage with skin tonic mixed with almond oil is beneficial Massage should be continued for at least ten minutes so as to enable the cream to penetrate the skin. Go Easier on daily cleansing and alcohol containing skin care in the winter If you are using a tonic with alcohol on a daily basis it is better to stop for winter or substitute it with a non-alcohol toning product. Remember, alcohol strips skin of lipids, natural protective oils and contributes to skin’s dryness and increased sensitivity. Peel Deal: Lips. Winter is not an excuse to have dry, cracked lips. Lip balms come in all forms and flavors. Maintain moisture in your lips by regularly applying lip balm. The best is still applying petroleum jelly on lips and leaving it overnight. Skin. Your elbows and knees might suffer the driest patches in your body because of the cold. To exfoliate these dark spots, rub a lemon on the area and then apply your favorite cream. Feet. Give yourself a foot spa. Buy a warming foot scrub and use this to clean the bottom of your feet to make them soft and smooth again. Remember you’re going to wear those step-ins again soon so your feet shouldn’t be winter-damaged. Long baths. Taking long baths during winter can dry skin. But fortunately, products which are made specially to hydrate skin are now available so you can indulge in long hot baths even when it’s snowing out. Scalp. Hair becomes nasty when dandruff starts getting worse. Stop the flakes by using a moisturizing shampoo that also has a soothing effect on your scalp. Be careful in choosing your anti-dandruff shampoo because some products actually remove your hair’s natural oils. Cheeks. Using powder blush might not be the best cheek makeup during winter. Try a cream blush because it’s bound to last longer on your cheeks.
