Grapes are of green, black and violet colours. There are different shapes and sizes of grapes. Grapes of small size are seedless, whereas those of large size have seeds. 

The main centers of grape cultivation in India are in Nasik, Pune, Tamilnadu and Aurangabad in Maharastra, Hyderabad in Andhra Pradesh and Punjab and Haryana.

 
 

The plant grows all through the year in Hyderabad and South India. Maharshi Charaka states that grapes nutrients are regimen, sweet, stimulative, soothing, beneficial to the throat, hair, skin and eyes and act as an appetizer.

Ripe grapes are oily, grapes calories diuretic, aphrodisiac, cool and refreshing. They are helpful in eliminating thirst,
burning sensation, fever, asthma, leprosy, tuberculosis, irregular menstruation, voice trouble, vomiting, obesity, oedema, chronic jaundice (hepatitis) and other disorders. They decrease gastric acidity. As a fruits they are one of Nature’s precious gifts for the revitalization of the human system.

Preventing old age, They should, therefore, be used soon after purchase or else be preserved in cold storage.

A study that appeared in the Journal of Nutrition shows that eating fresh grapes may prevent the accumulation of harmful oxidized cholesterol as well as the development of atherosclerotic lesions. Naturally occurring antioxidants in fresh grapes known as polyphenols are believed to be responsible for this beneficial impact.
