The bel tree is native of India. The History Of Bell Tre has been traced to Vedic period. The mention of bel fruit has been made in Yajur Veda.
This tree has great mythological significance. The leaves of this free are traditionally used as sacred offering to Lord Shiva, is believed to live under this tree.
The bel fruit is found throughout India as well as in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Burma.

The unripe of half-ripe fruit helps to fight scurvy. Scurvy is caused due to vitamin C deficiency. This fruit contains enough Vitamin C.

Bel fruit for blood purity, Soak the leaves of this tree in night in water and if taken as a drink in the morning then pain and discomfort of Bel for dysentry, peptic ulcer are relieved. Consider this treatment for a few weeks.
Bel leaves contains tannins which reduce inflammation and help healing of ulcers.
(species Aegle marmelos), fruit of the bel tree of the family Rutaceae, found wild or cultivated throughout India. The trees bear strong spines; alternate, compound leaves, each with three leaflets; and panicles of sweet-scented white flowers.
The tree is valued for its fruit, which is oblong to pyriform in shape and 50–250 mm (2–10 inches) in diameter. The fruit has a gray or yellow rind and a sweet, thick, orange-coloured pulp.
The unripe fruit, sliced and sun dried, is traditionally used as a remedy for dysentery; the ripe fruit is sweet, aromatic, and cooling. The bel tree’s wood is yellowish white and hard but not durable.
